The theme of the 14 July fireworks this year in Paris is “War and Peace” to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first World War. It starts at 11pm during 35mn. Before the fireworks, a big concert of classical musique will be given on the same theme from 9.30pm at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, facing the Champ de Mars.
Fireworks are usually launched from the Bassins du Trocadero facing the Eiffel Tower but for the first time this year, they will be launched directly from the Eiffel Tower.
What is the best way to see this extraordinary show ?
1 – You have a friend or some family in Paris with an appartment overlooking the Eiffel Tower. If not, you can book a hotel in Paris with a view on the sight ! Be careful ! When you see hotels offering a view on the Eiffel Tower on the web, it usually concerns 1, 2 or 3 rooms only. Hope yours will be one of these. If you don’t hope to see fireworks from your room window but need a hotel close to the Eiffel tower anyway, chek this page : Hotels to recommend in Paris close to the Eiffel tower.
2 – You reserve a cruise on the Seine River with a stop at the foot of the Eiffel Tower during fireworks. I would be surprised that at the time I write this post, there is still some tickets for sale but I have just seen on the web that the boat “L’Evenement” is still sells places with a departure from Quai de Bercy in Paris 12th district. You can check this page. Unfortunately, I could not find any page in English about this offer.
But finally, the best and more friendly way to see the Eiffel Tower firework is to go on the lawn of the Champs de Mars. It is free of charge and you can see the concert. If you plan to do so, you need to know a few things. You won’t be alone, so if you want to see the show, you must arrive on the lawn in the afternoon, even if you don’t like classical music. Come with friends or just your lover. Bring with you so drinks and things to eat. Don’t take glass bottles because policemen will take it ! They check all bags before you enter on the Champs de Mars. Sit on the grass, enjoy the friendly atmosphere, sing and talk with people around you, listen to the music and finally, enjoy fireworks !!!
Have a nice evening.
